Dear Mr He:

I am writing this letter to ask you if you could spare some time making a few evaluations on my task. I would appreciate if you could possibly reply about the problems and disagreement with my essay.

In addition, I am a junior studying at UIBE—university of business and economics. And I am about to take an IELTS test on 2nd Apr. So I am very eager to hear from you, sir.

Yours faithfully,

剑桥雅思 3 test 3 task 2

Topic:

when a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to try and keep them alive.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It is absolutely true that revolution of technology has brought tromendous benefits to humanbeings making people’s life much easier and more convenient. At the same time, it is probably wrong to abandon those meaningful heritages ancestors left for us.

Most the traditional things are basestones for offsprings to develop. No technology would derive from nothing step by step. The old methods, ways or treatises are precious fortunes for generations to absorb anything new again and again. So there could be disastrous results if a nation give away all the traditional skills or ways of life. Still , what might a nation be if they loose their root?

It is not advocated that people ought to get back to ways of life as our ancestors did in order to reserve our tradition. What is of great importance is that people learn from the tradition and develop it to contribute to not only their own country but also to all over the world.

Take Sunzi for instance, almost everyone know the marvelous work by him ’Sunzi on the art of war’ which is the oldest treatise in the world. Although it was written thousands of years ago, it is hardly to denied its everlasting influence and irreplaceable position in dealing with warfare and even tackling with difficulties and conflicts in daily life.

So old things are just like rich farmlands, where provide nutrition for crops growing well. People maybe should take a critical thinking to what kind of attitude should hold about our traditional things and how we make best use from them to benefit generations and the whole world.
