What’s your view about telling the truth?
In modern society, especially in metropolis, telling truth has undoubtedly been considered as a dispensable character. The traditional point view that honest character is virtue is gradually fading from people’s mind, isn’t it? Diverse contributing factors can be identified. In the following, I would like to present my point of view.
Compared with the past, deceits are increasingly emerged. People who want to catch succeed without hard work has lied frequently. It is a good example that many undergraduate students who cannot obtain the diploma because of underachievement have bought the fake certificate to cheat institutions inviting applications for jobs. These actions dramatically have demolished the credit standing of graduated students.
It is an undeniable fact that the social competition is becoming increasingly fierce. People want to seek for good pay positions at all cost. Moreover, the pressure of living has deteriorated the phenomenon that telling the truth is regarded the unnecessary character. In addition, telling truth infrequently appears within intimate relationship such as husband and wife, families, closed friends. Cheat is becoming the flexible custom in the vicious circle of pursuing profit.
In a final analysis, I do believe that the urgent steps must be taken. We must let our culture and education to guide us in everyday life, and not allow the profits to make our decisions for us. It is obvious that a comfortable but spiritually empty life, without the facility and true emotion of kinship and friendship would not be worth living.
