And at the same time, countries need these able people to make it stronger and advanced by use their knowledge. Do academic subjects really render everything necessary for children’s all-round development? Most schools put major emphasis on academic teaching because it is believed that academic subjects can guarantee better future careers. However, in fact, other subjects such as literature, music and sports, are more crucial to children’s development for they can give children many things beyond academic learning, including teamwork spirit, endurance and healthy physical body.<o:p></o:p></FONT></P>

We know that all these qualities are badly needed in children’s social lives in the future, especially when they get along or work with other people, when they confront difficulties or obstacles, and so on. <o:p></o:p></FONT></P>

In my personal sense, more choices, higher salaries and more opportunities derived from attending school will give an individual rapid advancement in an increasingly competitive job market.</FONT></P>

After obtaining a specific knowledge a job applicant can be competitive for previously unavailable jobs in high-tech companies. Whether the education is advanced enough or not indicates one country’s degree of development as well. Why is education so significant for us human beings? In the following, I would like to present my point of view.</FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=4>To begin with, education may be the most efficient way for the young acquire knowledge. They could be taught step by step, rather than received anything without purpose. In this way, the accumulated achievement can make a child more confident, which is a key element for their future study.</FONT></P>

We are always curious about anything unknown, which I think is the internal impetus of development of humanity civilization. The more we know, the more we eager to know. Some people think that in nowadays society which full with fierce competition, students should concentrate on some utilitarian courses instead of foundation subjects. However, In may point of view, students should be teach all these courses to become a all-round developed one.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Arial Black">It is true that practical knowledge do good for our future. The present world needs people with academic knowledge as well as practical skills to solve problems in their jobs. Remember the saying :"The survival of the fittest."  With the social competition becoming keener, one who proficient in practical knowledge would become prominent, or they will be eliminated in the ruthless rat race.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Arial Black">Despite the merits of practical knowledge, comprehensive education should be encouraged.Supperficially, some basic subjects have no practical value, in fact they play a crucial role in cultivating one's logical thinking and judgement in other fields.They alsohelp the students to develop their ability to gain more knowledge.The traditional basic courses are intrinsically linked to those so-called practical courses.  As a modern-day university student, one should know something of everything and everything of something.</FONT></P>
