<P ><FONT face="Times New Roman"><STRONG>Nowadays, more and more cultural traditions of different nations have been turning into attractions for the sake of earning money. Being aimed at this situation, people can be divided into two groups which hold completely contradictory views. One side advocates that traditions will be ruined if they are opened to the tourists in order to make profit, and the other side maintains that this is the sole way to keep traditions stay on the earth. In my opinion, both sides have their own reasons.</STRONG></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face="Times New Roman"><STRONG> <o:p></o:p></STRONG></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face="Times New Roman"><STRONG>On the one hand, numerous socialists proposed that the existence of cultural traditions are being threatened when an increasingly number of them have become tourist attractions. As tourism expands and reaches the remote corners of the earth, its impact on local culture is inevitable. The influx of foreign values, money and goods alters the cultural landscape, sometimes permanently. That impact is often negative, forcing local culture away from their traditional lands, lifestyles and heritage. Meanwhile, tourism leads to culture commercialism and this will finally causes disappearance of local traditions.</STRONG></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face="Times New Roman"><STRONG> <o:p></o:p></STRONG></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face="Times New Roman"><STRONG>On the other hand, many experts accepted that proper development of cultural traditions is beneficial to preservation of themselves. For instance, Cross-cultural contacts with indigenous peoples can promote friendship and goodwill, removing prejudice and hostility. In these people’s mind, tourism helps to better introduce the country to foreigners and showcase the brilliant history and culture to the outside world. Tourists are encouraged to visit regions left over with rich cultural heritage, join in celebrating their traditional festivals and experience the local way of life.</STRONG></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT face="Times New Roman"><STRONG> <o:p></o:p></STRONG></FONT></P><STRONG>In my view, the best way to maintain culture traditions is to develop and protect them simultaneously. The traditional cultures which are familiar to most people should be protect from over-development. Comparatively, those cultures which are unknown to the majority should be properly and rationally utilized in order to show the fascination of the local cultures.</STRONG>
