美国,英国,加拿大等国家都有专门的学生贷款机构,可以给相关的求学生活一些帮助。这些机构提供各种形式的贷款:Federal student loan( Stafford loan, parent loand), private student loan, consolidation loan
FEDERAL DIRECT/STAFFORD LOAN PROGRAMS:
Student borrowers may use either of these loan programs. Each program may be subsidized or unsubsidized. If the student has demonstrated need, the loan can be subsidized (government pays the interest while the student is in school). If the student does not have need, then the interest will be charged from the time the loan is disbursed until it is paid in full. The maximum a dependent student can receive is related to the year in school. First year students receive up to $2,625, 2nd year is $3,500, 3rd and 4th years are $5,500 and graduate students can receive up to $8,500.
The Direct Loan and the Stafford Loan programs differ in who lends the money. Under the Direct Loan Program, the federal government makes loans directly to students and parents through the school's financial aid office. Under the Stafford Program, private lenders such as banks and credit unions make the loans. The interest rate on the student loans cannot exceed 8.25% with a 4 percent fee that is deducted proportionately from each disbursement of your loan.
Student and parent loans made available under the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) are the most affordable and flexible options for financing your education. The lenders on this page offer FFELP Loans. Each provide the Federal Stafford loan, Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) and more. Be sure to use your Federal loan eligibility first before considering any other forms of financing such as Private/Alternative loans.
Ask your Financial Aid Administrator if your school is a "Direct Lending" school. Schools that participate in the William D. Ford Direct Loan program (FDSLP) insist their students and/or parents borrow their Federal Stafford and PLUS loan directly through the Federal goverment.
