Who's the better leader? Woman or Man?
Over the last several years a general discussion on the phenomenon of women leading has been in the limelight.
Seems obvious, yet the truth is that women who run for executive office need to have better credentials and more experience than most men in order to win.
Both sides have their sound reasons, but personally I stand on the side of Men’s lead ship because it’s harder to become a good leader for women than for men.
There are several instances in our daily life that can verify this.
In the first place, most women with a family can’t go to great lengths on their works since they have to do the housework, take care of the children and play the role as a wife as well. Or they have to give to give up those things to choose to be a leader because these women’s time and energy are limited. However men can spend more time on the business, subordinates, management and their department due to their wives’ support.
Secondly, most women make decision more emotionally than man. Men tend to be more confident and faster decision-makers compared to women. Male managers are also more adept at forming navigational relationships’, that is, temporary teams set up to achieve short-term goals.
Last but not least, men have more influence than women. Men on the other hand just need to show up, and they automatically inspire confidence in voters. A winning woman will need to come off as approachable and friendly, yet work twice as hard as any men to demonstrate toughness and strength.
So if we take a careful consideration, it is not difficult to get the conclusion that man is more suitable to be a competent leader than woman. Most of all, the women at the top must be seen as commanding and powerful, because theirs is the place where the buck stops. It’s not that easy. Real life for women lead ship is much more difficult. Women can’t present themselves the same way men do and still be seen as authoritative.
