Transfer of Student Applications to Beijing
The volume of visa applications continues to rise rapidly. In order to meet our existing target of processing student visas within 15 days, with effect from 7th May 2007, certain student visa applications will be processed in Beijing. This will make use of a larger pool of specialist officers to maintain service levels. There has been no change to student visa policies. All applications can continue to be made and received in Shanghai.
With effect from 23 April 2007, the VAC website will also be enhanced so that applicants and agents can book appointments to submit applications at the Visa Application Centre up to two weeks in advance. This service is available to
1. Student Agents submitting student applications on behalf of students intending to study at any UK Educational Institution
2. Individual applicants planning to study at one of the institutions listed below
3. Individual applicants planning to study for a post graduate degree
The VAC will open a dedicated booth for agents.
The following applications will be transferred for assessing to Beijing:
· Applications submitted by ECS or any other agent.
· Applications where student is studying at any of the following Educational Institutions:
Birmingham, The University of
Central Lancashire, The University of
Essex, The University of
Hertfordshire, University of
Hull, The University of
Leeds Metropolitan University
Leeds, The University of
Leicester, The University of

学生签证申请转至北京
由于签证申请数量持续快速增长，为了达成我们在15天内处理学生签证
的目标，自2007年5月7日起，特定的申请将在北京处理。届时会安排大
量专门负责学生签证的签证官来保证服务质量。学生签证的政策没有任
何变化。所有申请人仍然可以在上海申请和获得签证。
为了更好的提高代理和学生申请签证的审批效率，
签证申请中心将增
加网站功能。这将惠及到在任何以下提及的教育机构学习或打算学习研
究生课程的个人学生。由学生代理代打算去任何英国教育机构学习的学
生递交签证的也可使用网上预约服务。申请人或代理可以获得在线预约
服务，并提前两周约定提交材料的日期和时间。
签证中心也将为学生代理开设一个专门的柜台。
以下申请将被转到北京审核。
