作文一篇,望大家批评、指正
Universities do not prepare people for work. Instead, they teach knowledge that has little relevance in the real world.
How far do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answers.
It's not uncommon to hear that many undergraduate students complain about that they can't learn practical knowledge that they can use for their future work. However, as one of them, I totally disagree with them.
For one thing, I think the subjects we learn are essential and relevant for the future. In many university students’ mind that Advanced Mathematics is abstract and not useful at all. However, the more we learn the more we realize that Advanced Mathematics is the fundamental course for almost every field, such as economic, engineering and so one. Many problems in real world can be only described and solved by Mathematics simulation.
In universities, we can also master the learning skill, which will benefit our whole life. Although in universities, we still have professors, teachers, we can’t solely rely on them as we did in high schools. They just tell us what to learn and are ready to lend you a hand when we need. They push us to discover things on our own feet. It’s crucial, for when we leave school we have to acquire knowledge on our own.
Last but not least, we will develop the social skills. In universities, we have a lot of opportunities to work with a group of students. By this practice, we will learn how to co-operate with other people, how to be a a leader in a team and how to build up a good relationship with other people. The experience we gain is certainly helpful for our further development no matter what we will do in the future.
All in all, attending universities will make you well prepared for your future job and even for the rest of your life. Indeed, you won’t regret a single minute you spent in universities.
