1\题目是:The computer is widely used in education, and some people think teachers do not play important roles in the classroom. To what extend do you agree?

Along with the rapid development of computer science, remarkable changes have taken place in the way schools teach their students. Some people advocate that computers may replace teachers' role in the classroom one day. However, I do not think computers are a threat to the teacher(although the role of the teacher must change when using them), and reasons are as follows.

Using computers at an early age will hinder children's development of analytic and creative thinking, to begin with. Children can find out whatever they want in the computer. Sometimes, they do not need to use their own brain at all. Thus, they will become lazy in thinking and acting and will be dependent on computers, which does harm to the molding of character.

In addition, teachers have essential effects that can never be replaced by computers. Teachers know how to instruct and encourage individuals, while computers can never. For example, when I was a pupil, my teacher encouraged me to achieve success through hardworking. Eight years passed, it came true that I entered a famous university in the capital of China. If I had been taught by a computer at that time, I might not have been successful without the encouragement in time. It is unimaginable that a computer can understand human beings.

Besides that, using computers for a long time is harmful for students' health. If we use computer to study both in class and out of class all day and all night, we may suffer kinds of eye diseases and even become blind.

On the whole, the teacher is a most significant instructor in our life rather than computers. In that sense, we shall never be too reliant on the computer, although it brings some benefits and convenience to us.

2\题目是:
Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female to study in every subject. Do you agree or disagree?

At present, more than one-third of students are women in most universities. It is believed by some that equal numbers of male and female should be accepted to study in every subject. However, I disgree with the statement above and the reasons are as follows.

To begin with, we, men and women, are made different by sex, personal interest, intellect, family backgrounds and culture. It is difficult for different sexes to choose the same subject. We know that most men are good at thinking in abstracts while, in contrast, women in images. Thus, men are more likely to prefer some sort of science to literature, which is different from women. Universities do not need to accept absolutely equal numbers of both sexes, but depend on the choice of students themselves.

In addition, each subject taught in universities has a special requirement and special features. For instance, art work requires students who do well in thinking in images. If universities regard the numbers as importance instead of the way of thinking, they will lose more than gain. What's more, it seems foolish to pay intensive attention to the simple numbers.

Besides, in every subject, it is nonsensical or unrealistic to accept equal numbers of men and women.
And the equality of social status of sexes is showed by no means.

On the whole, male and female should be offered equal opportunies to universities, which does not mean universities should accept the same number of men  as of women.

3\题目是:
Some people think that university should not provide theoretical knowledge, but to give practical training benefit to society. Do you agree or disagree. Use your own experience and knowledge to support your idea.

Along with the fast growing competition in the society, we can, every now and then, hear some complaints about the university today, saying that the courses in the university do not provide enough practical knowledge and skills. And yet, there are also many people holding a different idea, one of whom I am. There are three major reasons as follows.

To begin with, the purpose of university is to cultivate students with fine quality and creativity. It is a place where students are trained to be strong enough academically to study by themselves in the future, which is different from vocational school where aims to give practical knowledge and skills to students. And students graduated from university know how to study after graduation, while those who are from vocational school cannot make something new because they do not have a solid foundation of knowledge.

In addtion, the cultivation of talented persons depends on the situation of the society or job market. As the society is always changing, the knowledge or skills we have mastered today in the university might become outdated tomorrow. But the quality and creativity will surly remain unchanged. Thus, more theoretical knowledge should be provided so that the quality and creative ability can be cultivated and enhanced.

Besides, it is not a big dilemma among theoretical knowledge and pratical training. In regular courses, the university should give theoretical knowledge, while in extra courses, it can provide students with some opportunities to add to their practical trainings, every now and then, in the fourth year, which is beneficial for us to apply the theory.

On the whole, only with the solid foundation of theoretical knowledge, can students acquire new knowledge and skills by themselves no matter how far away they are from the university. In that sense, the university is responsible for giving theory to students as much as possible.

4\题目:
Nature and nurture, which plays a more important role in shaping our personality and development?

The debate over whether or not one's environment or genetics determines one's personality is widely discussed. Although both contribute to an individual's personality, I believe that the environment is the more predominant force in the situation. Even though people are born with certain personality traits that seem to stay with them throughout their life, the things one witnesses and participates in seem to shape one's personality more than their predetermined drives.

To begin with, parents are the best teacher for a child. The attitude and behaviors of parents influnce their child directly. If his father or mother is talkative in the family, the child is likely to be extrovert, liking to talk with other people. Also, a harmonous relationship among the family has a positive impact on the child mentally and physically. Facts show us that most criminals are born in a single-parent or violent family.

Social environment is another major factor in the mature and progress of a person. For example, twins have distinct personalities, and yet have identical DNA. They live in the different environment, one in a small town, the other in a big city. One twin experience something while the other is not around. They receive different education, meet different people and face different challenges and change their interpretation of the situation at hand. Hence, their respective environments shape their different view of the world.

Besides, opportunity does much help to the development of people, the idea of which may be shared by most westerners. It can be seen that many people live a common or pale life, without chances or losing chances. A successful person does not only work hard, but also have some opportunities or chances.

On the whole, the nuture plays a more important role in shaping our personality and development, though nature is also significant.

5\题目:
Some people think children should learn to compete, but others think that children should be taught to cooperate. Express some reasons of both views and give your own opinion.

It seems that there are always a lot of competitive possibilities for young people. Some people claim that children should be taught to compete so as to motivate them to do their best. And yet many other people argu that it is more important to teach them how to cooperate, not just compete. Personally, I completely agree with the latter.

It is undenied that competition is required to help us reach our fullest potential. However, excessive competitio without cooperation creates undesirable results in children.

To begin with, excessive competition makes children mistake the most important thing in life for winning. This can lead to breaking the law or being honest in order to win. For those who do not win, it develops an attitude of failure. If children feel they have to be constantly competitive, they will lose interest in learning.

In addition, cooperation makes us enjoyable or pleasant to face challenges. Without competition, we do not feel much stress and anxiety. If children learn to cooperate with others, they will trust others and work as a group for a common purpose. The philosophy, "we all can win", can be a great weay for all members of a team or club to achieve their goad together. Everyone achieving their goad receives rewards.

Besides, learning cooperation is helpful for children to look at competition in the healthy way. Competition is to complete against our own accomplishments, not other's. An example is a swimmer who wants to improve his or her own best time in an event. It is important to recognize when good enough is good enough, and set realistic goals.

On the whole, it is more significant to teach children how to cooperate with others to face challenges together. And competition should be an opportunity for children to learn to strive and participate for the sake of becoming good at a skill or ability, not just to get ahead of others.
