In addition to all the documents provided, I would like to take this opportunity to present my study plan to clarify the main reasons that guide me to pursue my postgraduate study in England.
Since my graduation from Beijing xxxxxxx, I have been working as an office clerk at Import & Export Department of Guangzhou xxxxxx Group Co., LTD. The Work experience at company gives me a good start in an area of business. It provides me with the most necessary background knowledge and practice. However I gradually found that what I learned at the university could not meet the processing demand of my work and realized that I did not have sufficient exposure to the complexities of International Business Strategies, Management Cross Cultures, HR management and Finance. What’s more, I am also not satisfied with my current position at the company. Hence, I really need to pursue my graduate studies to enrich and expand my professional knowledge and widen my educational horizon.
I am anxious about studying in the United Kingdom. Due to the fact that the British education has proven its highest quality for many years. United Kingdom is a multicultural country with worldwide reputable education system. The duration of my studies is comparatively short, but it is the most fruitful and busiest time for me considering the difficulty of the chosen program. I will dedicate most of my time to my studies.
In order to pursue my career prospects, I consciously chose the Business School of Newcastle University. I convinced that I will be benefited from studying at the University of Newcastle–upon-Tyne because of its strong and vibrant interdisciplinary research base. By choosing to study at the laceType>UniversitylaceType> of laceName>Newcastle-upon-Tyne, I stand closer to realization of my career dreams and achievement of my goals. There are a few advantages that I can achieve my goals. The University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne is famous for its outstanding programs and long attained achievements in teaching and research .It is regarded as an “excellent” base in modern business trends research and the taught program at the university received worldwide claim for being the most advanced and progressive courses in the field of Business Administration. After looking through the catalogue of The Newcastle University, I couldn’t agree more that this institute will give me the best knowledge and experience in business.
What attracts me most is the program content of MA International Business Management designed by the university. The full-time program will last for 12 months from 13th September 2004 to September 2005.The program is divided into 3 semesters. It offers most compulsory disciplines that are necessary to learn and it comprises 140 credits of core and elective taught courses and a dissertation worth another 40 credits. These courses include International Business Strategy, Financial reporting for managers, International Business Environment, Managing Across Cultures, and Managing HR ect. The professional knowledge will certainly help me to understand and develop my own interpretation of business and management practices. I deeply understand that this knowledge is what I miss and thus have to learn, which has proven after 3 years of my direct involvement business at my work. As a sales representative of Import and Export, I acknowledge that I lack these qualities, which make me unable to process my tasks successfully. For example, I realize that cross culture factor is a keystone that can affect both marketing and advertising strategies. But I don’t know how to effectively integrate across culture and marketing strategies. I am also interested in Human Resource Management. After a though rough study of university program, I was delighted to find that my studies will include managing across culture, marketing and HR Management courses. What’s more, I have assessed many universities both in China and abroad; I think that University of Newcastle upon Tyne provides a wider range of compulsory and elective courses than others universities. Therefore, I decided to pursue my postgraduate study at the University of Newcastle- upon -Tyne.
Since China’s entry into WTO in 2002,China became the hottest spot in the world economy. China is in shortage of personnel with professional knowledge, proficient English skills, overseas education background and capability to merge east and western cultures. By furthering eliminating non-tariff barriers and reduction of tariff rates, China’s market will experience huge changes and offer countless opportunities and new jobs for the people. When I finish my study in England, I will come back to China to build up my professional business management career.
